Gulp, I know, its time to change the season and look towards the autumn ….. and …. yes …. Christmas! I do love crafting for the latter part of the year, but admittedly it does seem to whiz around to this crazy busy time so quickly LOL
To start this card, I stamped the Winter Trees Pattern from Hero Arts with Versamark on vellum and white heat embossed. Then the trees were cut so they trailed off the top of one of the Frames dies from Simon Says Stamp. I used one of the other frames from the set to cut some Glitz patterned paper which reminded me of a snowy winter dawn with pink sky. This created a lovely winter backdrop and then I added more vellum but this time cut with the Snow Drifts dies from My Favorite Things. A couple of snow drifts are layered over the trees and stitched with silver thread around three sides to create pockets. To the front of the pocket area I added a Merry Christmas die cut from glitter card.
The pockets are roomy enough to take a Rounded Tag with die cut snowflake embellishment and a sequin peeking out. I left the tag plain except for a flourish of twine, but you could write a message or pop in a gift card instead :D In fact thinking about it, as there are two snow drifts you effectively get two pockets so you could have a tag in the front pocket and a gift card behind – I like that idea! A few more scattered sequins to bling up the season and I called it done :D
In other news, the lovely Izzy & Noell Hyman of Paperclipping asked if I would join them for their Roundtable podcast today. Along with Ali Edwards (have you seen her gorgeous new site and venture?) and Leena Loh (seriously gorgeous pages fabulously photographed) we are discussing among other things how we photograph our projects. Izzy & Noell were so welcoming and great at guiding this newbie and I loved the experience even if hearing your own voice is a bit weird! Go have a listen and if you click on over to iTunes I’m sure Izzy would love a new review ;)
