Debby Hughes - Lime Doodle Design - Simon Says Stamp stamps and dies

I’ve been intrigued by the new Partial Cut Flowers die from Simon Says Stamp and was delighted to find the time the other day to have a little play :) The dies cut the flower petals but leave them attached at the petal base so allowing you to pop the petals up – fab idea! I kept my card über simple by die cutting one of the flowers from Neenah solar white card and then carefully masking the surrounding card to leave just the petals exposed. I then applied a little Hero Arts Fresh Peach to the base of each petal and blended it out with Cotton Candy from Simon Says Stamp. The flower centre is a Prima gem I have had FOREVER; seriously I can’t remember how long this little bit of bling has been waiting for a home :D The sentiment in Black is from the Friendship Messages set – such a beautiful font.

The panel is then foam mounted, with a double layer under the petals, on a Neenah card base on which I’d blended a hot backdrop for the flower in Barn Door and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks – love the pop of colour peeking out from the subtle petals :D When everything was in place I couldn’t resist a couple of brush strokes of Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

As you can probably gather by my posts being a little more spread out – we are thick into the summer fun here and I’m enjoying spending time with my family. I do love the summer months so :D
