Hello, I’m delighted today to be a guest over at Neat & Tangled! I was stoked when Danielle asked and so excited to delve into some new N&T goodies :D The first set I reached for was the fabulous Tiny Triangles set – love those open and solid triangles! Firstly I took some Tim Holtz watercolor card, wet a loose rectangular area with water and then dropped in Hero Arts sprays (directly from the little tube in the bottle) in Butter Bar and Pale Tomato. When dry I added another layer and when that was dry I gold heat embossed the triangles over the top :)
I love the clean look of the sentiments from the You + Me set. That is also gold heat embossed onto strips of watercolor card and foam mounted over the panel. A little white thread and sequins were the finishing touches.
I also wanted to try this card in a different colour way. This time I heat embossed the Tiny Triangles first using clear powder and then wet the paper and added colour with Pool and Green Hills sprays in a looser more blended fashion.
I heat embossed the same sentiment but this time in white on Simon Says Stamp Slate card. A little silver thread this time and more sequins to finish. Both cards are mounted onto Fog card bases.
I will be back here and on the Neat & Tangled blog later in the month with more N&T fun! I hope you will join me!

I’m so into watercoloring right now and these cards are wonderful. I love both ways of doing the background.
Debbie, these cards are absolutely spectacular. Can you offer any technical tips on how you used the Hero Arts sprays to make the watercolor backgrounds?…
Hi Mona, I firstly liberally wet with plain water the area I wanted to colour first. Then I unscrewed the top of the spray and using the little tube dragged colour around the wet area. The colour blends and spreads beautifully on the wet background :) Hope that helps and you have some inky fun!
Debby! You are truly AWESOME!!
