I saw a lovely baby blanket on Pinterest and absolutely fell in love with the colours! Add in that the Mini Tri Mosaic stencil from Crafter’s Workshop I have was just perfect for the job and I was inking away in a flash LOL. The inks I used were Cotton Candy from Simon Says Stamp and then Dark Quartz, Fresh Peach and Soft Granite from Hero Arts. I used the new mini ink blending tool from Ranger. I was wondering if there was going to be any difference to the old one. I have to say I love the new one! The neater head was great for working small areas like these triangles and another feature I really like is that the foam applicators are shaped to squidge over the sides of the head and so prevent the head from touching or scratching the paper surface :)
Before lifting the stencil I liberally spritzed with Tsukineko’s Sheer Shimmer Spritz in sparkle – this is just awesome stuff! Sort of like liquid Zig Wink of Stella glitter pen and adds a amazing yet subtle sparkle. I wish you could see, but it’s one of those things that doesn’t capture well on photographs. Having got this lovely sparkly background I didn’t want to cover it up too much so took the hint from the blanket picture and used a semi transparent strip of vellum to mount the ‘baby’ die cut grounded with the white heat embossed ‘shower’ (both from Simon Says Stamp) and accented with some Basic Grey enamel dots.
The blanket’s triangular pattern also reminded me of a card I made a while back with the Full Card Triangle die from Simon Says Stamp.
I used the same idea as last time of replacing some of the triangles in the pattern with enamel dots but I also combine the sentiment aspects into the line up too :)
Don’t you just love when an image really inspires you and ideas just leap out of your head and onto to a card :D
