At long last I can show you the leaves I made the other day with some Wendy Vecchi Crackle Paste! I was peeking my progress with the paste on Instagram but the thing is I made them for this week’s CASE Study and so couldn’t share them in full until today! Here’s Danielle’s card which inspired me:
It was the colours and shapes which really drew me in this week – pale yellow on the background, green leaves, a touch of pink, circle and script font. But lets chat leaves as I really had a blast with these :) I started with the Clustered Leaves die from Simon Says Stamp and some Neenah solar white card. Then I heavily blended in Distress Inks. I’d seen Shari Carroll use the Crackle Paste over Claudine Helmuth multi-medium matte so I applied a thin layer of that and then when dry spread some of the Crackle Paste on top. The crackle gives a great effect! I rubbed more Distress Inks over the top when the paste had finished drying and also added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. This really brought the leaves to life and gave them almost a wet look :)
The leaves are layered over a panel onto which I blended Hero Arts soft vanilla ink through Simon Says Stamp’s new Medium Dots stencil and then while keeping the stencil in place squished some Versamark ink on top and then added some Judikins iridescent sparkle embossing Powder; I totally blame Jennifer McGuire for rocking this powder so much that I had to pop some in my basket! To finish off the sparkle and shine this week I cut the ‘Sisters’ die cut from some deep bronze glitter card; it seemed to match the richness of the leaves somehow while popping nicely off the other paler colours.
Don’t forget to check out the CASE Study blog – lots going on with Danielle’s take on her card, the DT creations and also those of our two guests, Caryn Davies and May Park!
