How about a really CAS card today! I was trying hard to channel my inner Cristina Kowalczyk while making this card! She makes the most awesome CAS stripy cards! I used the new Wide Stripes Background from Simon Says Stamp’s Spring Release along with their Sea Glass ink (such a lovely colour) and then stamped one of the sentiments from Stripe Greetings in Black. This set is designed to go with the background stripes and I love the quirky skinny font :) Finally I added a die cut ‘Brother’ from the Brothers/Nephew/Son die set. The die actually says Brothers but as I’m sending this to my one and only brother I simply snipped off the ‘s’.
Do you find yourself filled with emotion when making a card for a specific person? While making this card I was thinking of all the times my Brother has been there for me. We may not be on the phone all the time and we Brits are known for our reserve, but in those times when we need each other he’s there. Stuck on a Mediterranean island because a volcanic ash cloud is preventing planes from flying home – he was there trying to work out options for getting us back. We’ve had a family member been very poorly this last year – he was there supporting us all through it. My Dad died many years ago so I suppose my Brother fills that role in our family. He’s our rock. And now with slightly moist eyes I’m going to sign off for today but I will be back tomorrow :)
Supplies: Stamps – Simon Says Stamp stripe greetings, wide stripes background; Dies – Simon Says Stamp brothers nephew son; Ink – Simon Says Stamp sea glass, black; Card – Simon Says Stamp lipstick red, Neenah solar white 110lb
Just beautiful. Wow, I really must get the wide stripe stamp – so elegant and Sea Glass is such a gorgeous colour.
I love your style! One of the stamps you used, SSS Wide Stripes is “out of stock”. Does that mean they may have more or we’ll never see it again. I am very new to card making.
Cheers,
Barbara
Hi Barbara, the wide stripes stamp is one of SSS’s new release so I’m sure it will get restocked as soon as they can :)
