This is my third post today, please scroll down to see a peek of the projects I have over on the Simon Says Stamp blog today and my New Year’s card:)
Now though it’s time for the next Curtain Call Challenge and we are kicking off the New Year in style!

We have a fabulous new sponsor, Linnie’s Blooms, for the Smitten challenge! The LEAD of this challenge will receive a gift certificate to use at Linnie’s Blooms!
OK so I bet you are looking at the inspiration and thinking how did you get from warm cozy mittens to a Tiffany inspired box! Well it started with the Faber-Castell 50’s Diner Gelatos that Linnie’s Blooms kindly provided; there is this gorgeous blue gelato in the kit and I just started playing but I kept in mind things that I’m in love with at the moment – soft ethereal colours, vellum, a little layering while still trying to keep it CAS and handwriting. The heart die cuts are a nod to the smitten theme too. Only thing is projects like this are a nightmare to photograph so my apologies on that front. The dim dark weather is not helping and then add in that this is a gift box made with my new We R Memory Keepers gift box punch board and the 3D aspect of the photography just threw another spanner into the works!
So to make the tag I used gesso on a piece of card and then rubbed the lovely blue gelato across the top and down one side, rubbing it in with my finger. I then squirted the tag with a solution of perfect pearls and let the colour soften and become all dreamy :) I stitched a vellum tag on top on which I’d written the name ‘Sophie’. This is the start of improving my handwriting and learning a little Calligraphy that I mentioned in my New Year’s post. I can’t take credit for that lovely writing, I’m using the ‘Modern Calligraphy‘ book by Molly Super Thorpe to learn the modern take on Calligraphy that I love seeing popping up everywhere. A trend for 2014? I hope so as it’s gorgeous! To finish I added a couple of little silver die cut hearts :)
Now comes the bit of this post I’ve been rambling and procrastinating in order to avoid! I have loved seeing the Curtain Call curtains rise once more. I joined this team because of Stacey and how wonderful and supportive she was when I started blogging and entered the original challenges. The Curtain Call Crew she gathered is a testament to the wonderful person that she is and they are an amazing bunch of girls :) This last 6 months have flown by, but as I look to 2014 I know that I need to keep the balance right for me so it is with great sadness that I feel it is time for me to step down from the team :( Joining the already amazing team are some fabulous new members and I can’t wait to see them rock it in 2014!
If you have time, pop by the Curtain Call blog as you won’t want to miss what our special guest Lesley Croghan and the crew have whipped up :)
