Yey, I got some of the new Simon Says Stamp goodies over the weekend! One parcel is still on a Christmas post detour somewhere but I did get THE most amazing bundle of fabulousness to play with!
I have just got back from the post office where I have done the first big round of Christmas parcels and cards winging their way to far off places. I’m far from ready for the holidays but a lot of my Christmas crafting is done and I’m looking forward to the New Year and bright, fresh colours. It’s probably too early to think of spring but a little Valentine’s can’t hurt can it?
One product I was really keen to try out from the new release was the Drawn Hearts Background. I love background strips but sometimes I’m not the best at lining them up so I was delighted to see a full size stamp in the new release :) I inked up just part of the stamp in Versamark and white heat embossed on the white panel to give a bit of subtle detail behind the Heart Flowers.
The heart flowers are cut from Neenah card and then coloured with Copics (on sale at the moment). I added a coat of glossy accents to the red hearts and a sugared the pink hearts with Distress glitter. The die set comes with a long heart flower stem and then 4 separate hearts to decorate the stem. I love the thought and attention that has been put into these dies – two of the separate hearts have a score line down the middle for perfect folding :) I added two of these die cuts to the red stem and one to the pink stem.
I die cut a green hill using the A2 Card Curved Edge die from some of the new cardstock. I was really excited to see Simon come out with their own range of card and ink and I am delighted to finally be able to check it out. The card comes in a rainbow of rich colours, is beautifully smooth and being 100# weight is sturdy enough to be used for card bases too! Oh am I a happy girl LOL.
I wrapped the hill with some twine and tucked in a small sentiment tag. The sentiment is from the Perfect Love set and it has a beautiful script font and is stamped in the new Lipstick Red ink :) The inks are made by the same manufacturer as my favourite Hero Arts inks so it’s no surprise that I am delighted with how they stamp.
Don’t forget to call by this post before the end of today (Monday) 11:59pm EST and leave a comment for a chance to win a $25 Simon Says Stamp gift voucher :)
