Dare I ask, are you ready yet? Me not so much LOL but I will get there in the end. I have a laid back approach to Christmas; we don’t go overboard on food and festivities but just like to spend some quality time with family and friends :) Even with those quite realistic expectations there is still so much to do!
Anyway back to today and it’s CASE Study time! We are continuing to crush over the fabulous inspiration Cath provided on Moxie Fab World and here’s this week’s:
Intriguing right? At first I was planning on going with some negative die cutting with stamping behind, but then I got the fabulous new Bird stamp from Hero Arts – love! So I stamped him in black on a neutral panel of card and gave him a good spritz with some Heidi Swapp seafoam and Mr Huey’s shine. I’ve only recently got into the mists and sprays but I am loving them! The photo above doesn’t really show them very well but you can see them a bit better in this close up shot.
I accented the panel with some stars cut from wood paper and a little silver glitter strip with the swirl of silver thread I am also loving at the moment. I dotted the bird’s eye with black enamel accents too then I stitched the panel to green card cut with the new Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame dies. On there I white heat embossed a sentiment from the new Hero Arts Enjoy Today set.
Please pop by the CASE Study blog to see how the rest of the team were inspired :) Also joining us this month we have two awesome Guest Designers Amy Ryall and Leigh Penner to add to the fun!
Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts bird, enjoy today, best wishes (heart); Dies – Simon Says Stamp large holiday shapes, postage stamp edge frame, Lawn Fawn into the woods; Card – Simon Says Stamp wood paper, Bazzill taffy, gumdrop; Inks – Versamark, Versafine onyx black, Versacolor evergreen; Mists – Heidi Swapp sea foam, Mister Huey’s shine; Embossing Powder – Hero Arts white; Ranger black enamel accents
I’ve already discussed at length with you all I love about this card. ;-) So, apart from the mists and the postage panel and the thread I love that cute bird and the little stars too!! Everything about this works so well – somehow you take even the unlikeliest of elements and manage to throw them together and create something spectacular!!
And no – not ready in the slightest!!!
LOOOVE this so much– colors, composition, that stamp! And I don’t know how you all pull off that nest of string/twine that looks so imperfectly perfect! Awesome. Like your new look of the website too, Debby! Happy Christmas!
Love it! Love the adoreble bird and the splatters made with the glimmermist.
As others have said, this card is just perfect! I love that silver thread swirled below the bird and the cute stars, too. I so enjoy your posts, Debby!
Gorgeous!!! Love the colours and the composition.
I have to say this card is perfection! I would love to get one like this one and am longing to be able to make one like this some day…
Another GORGEOUS card, Debby! Your splatters are perfect with this beautiful bird and I love the veneer stars…so pretty!
Good for you to keep Christmas simple…I admire you for that!
