It’s a beautiful frosty morning here today; the first real frost of the season. I love the changing seasons perhaps more so than any season in particular. The first frost of autumn with crisp, crunchy leaves under foot, the first deep snow of winter and excitement of getting the sledge out, spring blooms and the first weak sunshine and then that first real heat of summer where the kids strip off and play water games in the garden. The ‘first’ of the season is always good, sometimes we forget that feeling as the season progresses and the first frost of the season turns into the realisation that the windscreen will need scrapping before I can go out each morning. I’m going to try and hang on to those ‘first’ feelings for as long as possible.

Anyway, I’ve been rambling a bit this morning! My card is actually inspired by frost as I thought the crackle stamps in Clearly Besotted Stamps new Geometric Style set reminded me of a frosty window. I’ve not seen anything like these crackle images before and was drawn to the possibilities; crackle glaze, frost, rust, and bark to name but a few. I die cut a bunch of diamonds from Taffy card and then white heat embossed the crackle. The diamonds are foam mounted onto a Marshmallow panel which is equally foam mounted on to the Taffy card base; lots of dimension to create interest in this simple card. The sentiment is from Modern Christmas and then a sprinkling of adhesive pearls to finish off :)
