It’s time for another Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge! Here’s the stunning inspiration

CAS-ual Friday Stamps is our fabulous sponsor for this CAS-ual Christmas inspiration and I have to be honest the fabulous Naughty or Nice stamp set I got to work with rather took over from the original inspiration! Now not only are CAS-ual Fridays sponsoring the post but they are running the same inspiration in their challenge – two great challenges running side by side!

When I looked at the photo I didn’t think about specific elements but rather the whole Christmas and gift giving traditions. The excitement of hanging a stocking and had you been good ….. would Santa come?! That’s when the stamp set kicked in with that ‘define naughty’ sentiment! Oh that just killed me LOL. I just had to create a little scene using that sentiment.

The branch is from the CAS-ual Friday set Calm and Gentle; I cut apart the three branch image so I could just stamp one branch for the cat from Simon Says Stamp Happy Meowday set and the little bird from Lawn Fawn’s Winter Sparrows to sit on. I added a little scarf to the cat from Simon’s Stylish Simon set and then accented the scene with stickles glitter and a clear Wink of Stella pen.

Once I’d got my scene sorted I stamped the wonderfully fonted (that is a word right?!) ‘Naughty or Nice’ above and the ‘define naughty’ below, finally finishing off with some snowflakes from CAS-ual Friday’s Snowflake Greetings set :)

It felt good to make what is pretty much a one layer card, I haven’t been making them as much recently and it’s always nice to keep you hand in! The bird and cat were stamped and coloured separately, cut out and added to the branch but in essence it’s a one layer card isn’t it? Also, I don’t know if you find this, but I hadn’t coloured an image in a while and I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms LOL. It felt so good to get out my Copics and have some good old colouring time :)
