I am just loving having Elena Roussakis as our CASE Study muse this month! Just look at this week’s inspiration:
This was a tough one for me, not because the inspiration isn’t drop dead gorgeous but I couldn’t see past the cute matryoshkas dolls and not having any stamps suitable I was looking to more general inspiration. I took lots of the elements of Elena’s card – large and small, the colour blue, stitching, the bow, encouraging sentiment …….. and came up with a card which looks nothing like Elena’s! But that’s the joy of CASE Study isn’t it; inspiration can take us in any direction :)
So my card has the wonderful sentiment from Kelly Purkey’s new set ‘I like You’ white heat embossed on to vellum which was trimmed with the edge of the Wrapped Mailing Label from Simon Says Stamp. The sheer vellum gives just a peek at the background panel which is die cut with Kelly Purkey’s ‘Triangles’ and popped up over some gorgeous patterned paper from Basic Grey. Trimming the panel and giving a nod to Elena’s dolls are the little and large feather from Simon Says Stamp’s Pointed Feathers.
Please pop by the CASE Study blog to see the rest of the Design Team’s creations as well as our guestie for October Michelle and of course Elena’s CASE too :)
Supplies: Stamps – Kelly Purkey i like you; Dies – Kelly Purkey triangles, Simon Says Stamp pointed feathers, wrapped mailing label; Card – Bazzill marshmallow, vellum; Paper – Basic Grey persimmon; Embossing Powder – Hero Arts white; Ink – Versamark; Twine – Hemptique aquamarine
Beautiful! I love how Elena’s card has inspired us all in such different directions, and yet still with the influence showing through! Your card is totally gorgeous, Debby. :-)
