Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Blog Hop!

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. During the past 11 years we celebrate rubber stamping in its full glory by giving access to people around the world to a one stop shop. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember®” event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complimenting ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, life documenting, art journaling, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.

To celebrate the 4th annual Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® event, we’re ‘hopping’ along sharing some great projects featuring the new STAMPtember® product releases! It’s one of the biggest releases to date and features new stamp sets, dies and stencils – the newest addition to the Simon brand of products.

Any new Simon release is an awesome event but when you have such a plethora of gorgeousness which is STAMPtember®, well I just about combust with glee! So many unique new products to play with which are right on trend; just like this Friend Flag Set :) The set comes with two die elements and one stamp set. The elements are available individually but are also bundled together as a set with almost $6 saving :)

Now I’ve long hankered after the pocket style scrapbook cards. They are so pretty! But seeing as I don’t scrapbook this way then I’ve always resisted popping them in my basket. However, as soon as I saw the Friend Flag Set I knew I had to have a go at making my own! I grabbed my set and a new 6×6 pad of gorgeous My Mind’s Eye paper and set to.

I made three cards. For the first I cut the Flag Card Die from paper and mounted it onto card. Then die cut the flag from Flag On A Line, stamped it with one of the coordinating flags and nestled it right in there :) The heart is also from the stamp set; I stamped it in Hero Arts Fresh Peach and cut out. Oh and the flair – that’s from Kelly Purkey’s Oh Snap set.

For my second card I had to use the ombre paper in the pad – simplicity was the key for such a gorgeous paper so I partially die cut the Flag Card Die turned it and partially die cut again so I had a perfectly plain card. To this I added a die cut flag with a heart die cut out the centre so the beautiful paper could show through. I stamped and cut out another of the hearts from the set and added some die cut hearts and sequins.

My last card features another of the fabulous flag stamps onto the flag die cut. To mix it up a bit I added the flag to the left of the card this time. Hopefully using the same patterned paper pad and repetitive elements like the flags, hearts and sequins pulls the cards together as a set.

I don’t pocket scrapbook but I know people who do, so I thought these little cards would make a nice gift. A simple wrap of twine with one of the new Medium Tags and a sentiment from Tag Sayings :) Only thing is they are so pretty and I’m eyeing them up for my card making too LOL. I can just see them as the focal point of a larger card or equally as a mini card on their own :)

We’re so excited that you are here to celebrate with us and we hope to inspire you at all stops along one of our biggest blog hops ever!
