Welcome to the Kelly Purkey STAMPtember® blog hop!
I’m delighted to be hopping along today with a bunch of fabulous designers all showcasing new products from Kelly Purkey’s STAMPtember release! It is wonderful that Simon Says Stamp partners with Kelly Purkey to bring her fresh, fun designs to the Simon line up :) You can see all Kelly’s products here but today we are looking at all the goodness which is brand spanking new!
When I opened my box of goodies I about squeaked at the gorgeousness within :) For today I pulled out two of the new dies to focus on; Feathers and Flamingo. I thought I’d challenge myself to make two similar cards but in different styles; one clean and simple and one a little more layered.
To start with I couldn’t resist the feathers! I know, I know, but seriously with the little centre die cut out? I cut them out of Neenah solar white card and blended Distress Inks in antique linen and frayed burlap before coating them in rock candy distress glitter. Oh these are so splendid and sparkly sugar-like in real life! I gathered the feathers on a panel of card, loosely wrapped with twine and popped up over a strip of patterned paper.
For my second card I gave the flamingo die cut the same ink (Hero Arts fresh peach) and glitter treatment as the feathers. Created the horizontal element from my first card with patterned paper and the circle elements of button/sentiment/pearls I repeated as that gorgeous ombre flair and some enamel dots!
Thanks so much for stopping by on the hop! The next stop is the fabulous Laura Bassen – this girl is AMAZING and totally on fire at the moment :)
Just in case you’ve found your way here independent of the hop, the hop begins at the newly designed Simon Says Stamp blog, also if you encounter any broken links while ‘hopping’ you can head back there for a full list of participants.
Happy hopping!
