Oh it’s busy, busy, busy around here; this is my third post today and there’s still another to come! I hope you’ve not got lost along the way LOL. However when I got asked to play with the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit I jumped at the chance!
So it’s a big welcome to the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit Blog Hop! You should have hopped here from the fabulous Stephanie Klauck, if not head to Simon Says Stamp to start at the beginning :)
Fall is slowly starting to fill the air and the kids are getting ready to head back to school. What better way to welcome the changing seasons, than a blog hop featuring the September Simon Says Stamp card kit. With its fun chalkboard papers from My Mind’s Eye, new exclusive Simon Says Stamp banner stencil and stamp set and fun travel themed embellishments, it’s sure to get you in a creative mood!
Did you know that you can subscribe to Simon Says Stamp’s monthly card kits for just $19.95 plus S&H every month!? The kits are an incredible value! The last few months the kits have sold out so I’d be quick! I mean, just take a little look!
I was totally bowled over when I opened the kit box, I mean look at those Chalk Studio papers from My Mind’s Eye, in fact I think I may have even squeaked! I couldn’t wait to get stuck in :) I created a little set based on the lovely chalkboard papers with their subtle pastel colours on the back. A card, mini card and matching envelope and a gift bag with tag :)
Where to start LOL. I have lots of photos :) How about with the largest and work our way to the smallest. I used one of the sheets of card from the kit to create a gift bag. I’ve a diagram showing dimensions here.
The tag uses the gorgeous Life Is A Journey stamp set from the kit. I stamped the sentiment and masked it off so that I could add a few sprigs here and there. Then I stamped one of the modern flower images several times onto pink card and cut out, popping them up and adding a sprinkling of enamel dots. The black ribbon and twine tied the colour scheme into the set.
For my card I wanted to let some of the patterned papers really shine. I picked the one with this fabulous camera image and sentiment and swiped the Color Box ink around the edges before mounted it to a card base created from the ribbed paper in the kit. I added some more paper above and cut some banners from other patterns, attaching them to the side with staples.
Finally I die cut a pink heart to the camera and added glossy accents to tie in with the enamel dots I added too :)
Lastly the mini card and matching envelope :) Again making full use of the chalkboard papers I cut out the banners from one piece of paper and mounted onto the pink striped paper. I cut out little banners from the patterned papers and popped them here and there on to the chalkboard ones. A ‘You’ die cut reinforced the sentiment which I stamped and then used the banner stencil from the kit to draw a perfect banner around it.
For the envelope I used Simon Says Stamps Small Envelope Die to cut one of the patterned papers. I embellished it with one of the chalkboard frame images, some twine and of course I had to squeeze an enamel dot on there too LOL.

An utterly amazing ensemble Debby!! So difficult to pick a favourite out of all this but I did manage to narrow it down to two – the perfect, high-end-store-bought-like gift bag, and that *amazing* little mini envelope!! Wow!!!
