As soon as I saw the new Boutique Stamps release at Hero Arts I had to have this stamp designed by Shari Carroll! There are three stamps in the series (I will link them all at the bottom) but I bought this one, Tree no.2, and also Tree no.1 :) I’ve been dying to get this one inked up and coloured with my Copics and finally I found time this weekend. I kept it all very simple and after colouring added a lovely thick layer of glossy accents to the green circles, some stickles to the star and a few enamel dots to decorate. As is always the case the most difficult part for me was leaving the glossy accents to dry LOL. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Furry Christmas and I thought the whimsical font went well. And that was it! Seriously this tag shimmers and shines in real life – it’s always so difficult to capture that in photos.
Using scoring to create projects is all the rage at the moment with We R Memory Keepers bringing out a range of new products to accompany their popular Envelope Punch Board. I was about to order some more envelopes recently but was so inspired by seeing all the envelopes popping up that I attacked my older patterned papers that I don’t use so much and created hundreds of handmade envelopes instead! More on that another day. The Envelope Punch Board is available at Simon Says Stamp (linked below) but coming soon are the Gift Bag, Gift Box, Pillow Box and Candy Box punch boards which I believe will be making an appearance in October.

So while I wait for those new products I thought I’d have a go using my current score board to make a gift bag for my tag :)
I adapted a template I found on the web to fit with a US sized piece of Bazzill card cut to 27 cm by 21.5 cm. Here’s a little diagram.
The short vertical scores with angled ends which form the sides of the gift bag were scored from the back of the card as they fold in the opposite direction to all the other score lines. Hope that makes sense! The top 3 cm are cut to the first horizontal score line and folded in to strengthen the top of the bag. The lower 4 cm are cut to the second horizontal score line and create the base of the gift bag.
I made my bag from Bazzill gumdrop and then added a strip of patterned paper to the top. Then I punched some holes on either side and threaded some ribbon for handles, popping the tag into place as I did. I think this makes my first Christmas project this year! Cath is running a Christmas series over at Moxie Fab and so I’m going to pop this over there :)

Totally adorable. And fabby idea to use up PPs for envelopes. Guess now that I cut most of my 12×12 to 6×6 that option’s out!
You can make small envelopes with 6×6 Maria!
Wow, stunning tag Debby!
Gorgeous tag and gift bag! I especially love that pop of red making contrast with green… and the sparkling star. Amazing coloring too, as usual. Thank you for the diagram.
