Wohoo have I got a fun post for you today! It’s a year since Paulina started the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge and to celebrate it’s first birthday in style there’s a fabulous blog hop going on with a list of rock star names taking part and I am so honoured to be hopping along too :)

Hopefully as part of the hop you’ve come here from Paulina’s blog, Pretty Pink Posh, but if not pop over there and take a look at what’s going on and to see that hop list I mentioned.

For my card, I had an idea of what I wanted to do beforehand and all my supplies out and ready then I started the timer on my phone and away I went! I wanted to use the Hexagons dies from Simon Says Stamp. I was basing my card on the fact that die cutting is a lot quicker than stamping LOL. So I die cut the hexagons from some Neenah Desert Storm card and again from some coordinating My Mind’s Eye papers. Another die cut in the form of the ‘happy’ from the Oh Happy Day die and things were starting to come together. The final die cut was the Grid Border which I cut from scrap card and used as a stencil to swipe some embossing paste along the base of the panel. It’s a good job I was going for a casual look – I’d even left some of the little squares in the die cut to give a more random pattern. Finally I white heat embossed the ‘birthday’ onto black card, snipped a little paper banner and sprinkled the card with sequins and enamel dots. Phew! The final time – boy it was getting close – 9 minutes 32 seconds!

So my final assessment:

Is it the best card I’ve ever made? No!

Am I happy though in what I did in less than 10 minutes? Yes!

Would I send this card to someone? Absolutely!

And that’s what it comes down to isn’t it? That and a lot of fun LOL.

Now not only is there a blog hop and a co-ordinating challenge for you guys to link up to but there are also prizes! Great prizes I might add, just take a look :)

A $50 Ellen Hutson gift certificate and prize pack for the winning participant but that’s not all! There’s lots of prizes for random comments left along the blog hop too!

Right, I suppose I’ve got to let you go as you hop along the list, it’s been great you calling by but it’s now time to pop on over to the uber fabulous Betsy Veldman! See what I mean – rock stars!
