Wow, sorry things have been so quiet here this week. I’ve been really busy but nothing I can share quite yet. On to today and a little card for this week’s CASE Study Challenge with Maile’s stunning card to inspire us :)
I took the heart theme, colours, that cute little word circle and the script font mixed it all up and came up with my inlaid die cut card. I left out a couple of the pieces from around the ‘you’ so to get a nice negative die cut effect in there too. Finally I coated the heart in a thick layer of glossy accents. And for those of you that know me and glossy accents …… let’s just say this was not my first attempt at this card. I just couldn’t leave it alone long enough to dry and kept trying to squeeze that ‘you’ in there and messed up at least a couple of versions before I finally managed to behave myself LOL.
Don’t forget to pop to CASE Study to see more takes on Maile’s card from the Design Team, our guest for May, Erin, and of course from Maile herself :)
Supplies: Stamps – Simon Says Stamp tilted banner sayings; Inks – Hero Arts butter bar, Versafine onyx black; Card – Papertrey Ink berry sorbet, hawaiian shores; Dies – Simon Says Stamp you, large hearts, Clearly Besotted Stamps full steam ahead (small circle); Ranger glossy accents
you amaze me with your creations!
I don’t know ‘how’ you generate your ideas, but honestly…you are AMAZING, Debby! To place the die cut into the heart with all the glossy accents is brilliant! What a gorgeous effect and beautiful card!
I love the way your cards are so unique — this looks just fabulous~
I love your card….creative and colorful!!!
Gorgeous. Love the glazed heart.
What a cute card! I love your take on this card. Love how your heart and the word “you”is inlaid together. Very cute for sure!

Totally cool!! Love the you with heart and glossy accents!!
This is gorgeous! The inlaid word “you” and the shiny heart… what a take on Maile Belles card! Can I ask you something, if I’m not being too nosy? Did you glued another “you” just under the heart to compensate the height of that layer? I hope that my english makes sense (not me, of course) :)
Hi Cristina, no I didn’t add an extra you. Fitting the you in was a snug fit and it was stable enough without. Hope that helps :) Oh and your English is always perfect!
Thank you Debby :)
This is super! I love how you cut the ‘you’ out of the heart. And I hear you about the Glossy Accents. It is not fun for those of us into instant gratification. :)
LOVE it – :-)
