I love making cards for challenges, but just recently, probably along with the rest of the world during this busy season, I haven’t had much time. However, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to try and fit in just a smidgen of time every now and then to indulge myself. Soooo, while needing to make a 40th birthday card, I’ve managed to combine a couple of challenges with a CASE of Maile Belles I’ve been meaning to try and came up with this card.
Last year I loved the sketches by Lucy Abrams and despite having a new born baby (many congrats on Lily’s arrival!) Lucy has found time to put together a new set of sketches this year. This card is for sketch 1.
The second challenge I used was another favourite of mine – Moxie Fab’s Tuesday Trigger. Here’s the inspiration photo.
I think the number theme was obviously an inspiration but I also thought the quilting around the numbers reminded me of the wood grain in Papertrey Ink’s modern wood mats. Here’s a closer look.
Phew, that’s me for today. Have a great weekend!
Congrats on being a TT winner! Your card is beautiful and a great take on the TT.
Debby, this is soft and gorgeous…no wonder you were picked at Moxie Fab World for this card!

Love the embossing folder , where can I get that one. I am trying to design a birthday card for my Mom who is turning 90 in April and I think this would be a great background for her card and many other special birthday cards. Thanks.
Hi Sally, the embossing folder is one from Papertrey Ink. This post is from a while ago so you might need to check if it’s still stocked :D
