“This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops! We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project! This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops, scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up!”

It’s time for Papertrey Ink’s February blog hop and this month it’s scallops – right up my street! You can read all about it here

I doubt I’m going to be the only one who has used scallops on an owl, but I couldn’t resist! Here’s my sleepy little fellow.

I used the medium scallop die to cut alternating layers of smokey shadow and aqua mist card and then layered them over an oval die cut, trimming off the excess. A few circle die cuts for the eyes and ears, a scrap of orange for the beak and he was done!

The number of layers meant that this little cutie is really sturdy and probably thicker than chipboard!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop in all it’s scallopy goodness.
