I’m kick starting creativity with a sketch challenge today and I’m not sure why I left it so long to join in with a challenge as it was great fun and stretched my placement of things further than I would normally go :D Having said that I don’t tend to stick to sketches to the letter but use them to guide me in my design.

Here’s the Sketch For You To Try from Reverse Confetti that I used today. The red circle became the mittens, teal banner was the glittery white banner I looped the string from the mittens around and the green rectangle is the word patterned paper. Finally I used the spotty paper as the background and this is where I strayed a little from the sketch but that’s OK in my book ;) I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.

I stamped the mittens and cuffs from Smitten Mittens in Baby Blue and Navy, die cut with the matching dies and then mix and matched the designs. I added a loop of twine to keep the mittens together; can you remember mittens like that which had were meant to be threaded through coat sleeves to stop the mittens getting lost when little hands pulled them off!

I used the Greetings Frame die set to cut the rectangle of word patterned paper from the Warm Heart pad and the white banner (I added a coat of Rock Candy Distress Glitter to this). I mounted all the elements on the word paper and then mounted this on spotted paper and then on to a Navy card base. Finally I added a couple of sequins to embellish and called it done!
