I love all the colourful blues and reds often associated with a nautical theme but sometimes it’s nice to mute things down a touch and enjoy a soft, more neutral palette. In the Authentique papers included in the July Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp is this gorgeous, subtle stripe. I cut the Sailboat die from the paper and used both the negative and positive of the die cuts. For the negative die cut I ran the paper back through my die cutter with a Stitched Circle and mounted this on a Large Tag cut from Marshmallow card and stamped in Slate with the sentiment from the Sailing set. I also cut another Large Tag from Slate card and tied the two up with May Arts twine and added a little colour with two enamel dots. This tag combination is then mounted on a top folding Marshmallow card base with a strip of Lawn Fawn paper.
I mounted the positive of the die cut Sailboat on a Medium tag again cut from Marshmallow and accented with enamel Dots. This is then paired with a Slate tag and May Arts twine around a Gift Card envelope.
The two really complement each other and these soft neutrals with just a hint of colour would be great for baby themed cards.
