A masculine valentine tag today – no pink or hearts anywhere to be seen! Thought this would go down well with the guys :D I did however manage to fit in watercolouring, splatters and sequins (grey ones) because hey, they can’t have it all their own way right?! The pears from the Simon Says Stamp Quite The Pear set are stamped in Versamark on a Smoke tag cut with one of the Large Tag dies and white heat embossed. As this isn’t watercolour card I very quickly and loosely watercoloured the pears and tried not to overwork the paper too much. While they dried I stamped the pears on masking paper, cut out and masked off the image before splattering with a solution of Perfect Pearls and also Black Color Shine from Heidi Swap.
Once dry I added patterned paper along the bottom of the tag, a tiny strip of yellow chevron paper and a banner cut from Slate card with the sentiment stamped in Versamark and white heat embossed. A snuck those little Pretty Pink Posh charcoal sequins on there and stapled the side of the tag to finish. The tag is backed with another cut from more Smoke card and threaded with Black Hemptique twine.
I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things. The children went back to school on Monday and I’ve caught up on all those jobs which were either too difficult to do with the children home or mainly I hadn’t been bothered as we enjoyed chilled out family time over the holidays :D It’s back to reality now though and that’s good too; it wouldn’t feel like a holiday if we were chilling out all the time right?! That’s what I’m telling myself to keep me going at any rate ;)
