Another quick and easy card today using the February Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp :D The Crate Paper Rub Ons in the kit have lots of sentiments, icons, wreaths etc and these cute love birds which I just had to use. They are drawn in a quirky fashion so I though I’d follow that theme and have them perched on a strip of the Crate Paper patterned paper with the cute ‘kiss kiss’ rub on above them. The trees are from the Make A Home set and stamped in Beanstalk Green and Sparrow before cutting out with their matching dies. The sentiment is from the Paper Hug set in the kit and stamped on a scrap of Black card with Versamark ink and White heat embossed.
I should’ve done this next bit earlier as it’s not my best attempt at splatter but I thought the panel could do with a little something and by this time everything was adhered down. I used the gold gelato in the kit to make my own custom splatter, scribbling the gelato on a craft sheet, mixing it with a little Perfect Pearls and water until I had a lovely gold and shiny mixture. By sheltering the focal point of the panel with one hand I was able to pick up some of the mixture on the paint brush (love that this kit is packed with so many extras) and splatter it across the panel. I really like the lovely deep gold colour of the splatters but still wish I’d managed to do this part earlier LOL. Finally the panel is foam mounted on a top folding Marshmallow card base :D
