lots of love

This is my second post today, please scroll down for my CASE Study card :) I’m back to share a card I made inspired by …. myself LOL. The wonderful Christine Drogt has a video series running on her blog this month – a project and video a day from December 1st to Christmas Eve! Crazy right? But oh so awesome! A little while back she asked if she could use this card as inspiration for one of her videos.

This was a card I made back in October using a Kelly Purkey sentiment and triangle die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Wrapped Mailing Label die and some Pointed Feathers to the side. I will link to those products at the bottom of this post as well as those for today’s card :)

For today’s version I used the same vellum banner die cut with Simon Says Stamp’s Wrapped Mailing Label die and white heat embossed the sentiment from Chalkboard Love. From the name, you can guess that this sentiment set would be awesome for the chalkboard technique but I wanted to keep this light and airy :) My original card had a pop of colour peeping out from the die cut triangles and for today I went with a pop of colour in the form of the new Heart Wreath.

I’ve seen some fabulous wreaths by Shari Carroll and Jennifer McGuire and so I tried to channel them when making my wreath :) The die makes it so easy; it comes as one total wreath die and then you have individual heart and leaves too. I cut the wreath from Green Leaf card and then pounced a little Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Inks here and there to give variation in colour. I did the same with the little hearts with Lipstick Red card and Barn Door ink. From there it was so easy to put together; a spot of glue for each red heart and then I dotted glue on the back of the wreath, keeping to the stem areas so the leaves and hearts could have a little dimension. The top of the wreath sits over the banner and the bottom of the wreath sits under. I added some clear adhesive under the two hearts to lift the banner away front the wreath slightly :)

OK I really can’t wait to see what Christine made for her card and video. I hope you get the chance to take a look too :)
